What Will You Do

...for "Carmageddon?"

Since the madness of the closing down of the 405 freeway this weekend, here in L.A., is about to embark on us (even my husbands firm is shutting down at 3 today), I thought I would do a lil post about what we have planned. Since NO ONE will be going anywhere, we decided this weekend will be ALL about walking around town and having "theme" nights at home.

Theme nights used to be a big part of James and my life, and then you know, we had ourselves a baby, and well, theme nights faded into a mere memory. Well guess what folks, they're back! With Gavin being almost 2 (and staying up later) and Carmageddon taking over L.A., we thought now would be the perfect time to start up our beloved tradition once more. What exactly does a theme night entail, you ask? Well, it's really just an excuse to make cocktails and a feast based around whatever movie will be featured that evening. Take the movie "Fight Club," for example. Given it's violent, manly nature, we may have a lot of meat on the menu and Bloody Mary's (maybe a whiskey sour for James) as the drink of choice. Or on the other extreme, take the movie "Enchanted." That may consist of pizza (like in the movie) and carmeled apples for dessert and maybe a poisoned "Appletini," as the cocktail of choice. It's really just about making up names for things and eating a lot. Oh, and did I mention the best part? James does ALL the cooking in this house, and he's honestly quite the gourmet chef. I'm talkin he wears an apron and everything!

Hope you all have a Happy Carmageddon! I know we will!
